Google maps with streetview - US only sofar.

It not a new idea, but it is kind of a briliant idea anyways. Adding street views to Google maps makes a perfect combo for tourists and GPS users.
only one problem! it is for US residents only (so far)!
I came across a rumor a couple of weeks ago that told that Google was buying up domains with the word "streetview" in it. That made me thing that they were cooking up something new for google maps.
I was right. Today when looking for new Google map features discovered a new button when I was zoomed entirely in on one of the larger US cities (those with semi-3D view etc). The button said Street view and when pressed, a small yellow man was now shown on the map. An info window said that I should drag and drop the man onto a point inside the outlined streets. I did this and then a new window came up showing exactly how the street look at that point. the image could be panned and zoomed - you can even move along the street.
Here is a screenshot of a street in New York:
Whenever I look for new Google features I usually use an open proxy placed in USA. This is because they normally do not open up for the new features to the entire world right away and since they are from the US, they normally ad the feature there first.
If you dont live in the US. you might have to do the same.
